OP级帆船（英文名称Optimist，意为乐观），诞生于1947年，当时一群家长为丰富孩子们枯燥乏味的业余生活，知名设计师Clark Mills先生设计一种专门适用于儿童的帆船。
The OP (optimistic, or optimistic) was designed in 1947 by Clark Mills, an artist best known for his children's sailboats, as parents try to keep their children from the grind of their spare time.

OP级帆船船体小，单人操作，易于学习，有点像帆船界的卡丁车。并且OP帆船是世界上大多数帆船运动爱好者入门的第一条船。也成就了世界众多孩子的蓝色梦想。
The OP class is small, single-operator and easy to learn, a bit like the go-kart of sailing. And the OP sailboat is the first boat for most sailing enthusiasts in the world. Also the achievement of the world's many children's blue dream.
作为帆船运动项目当中唯一的少年帆船项目，该项运动要求所参与的运动员年龄在15周岁以下。
As the only junior sailing event in the sport, the athletes are required to be under the age of 15.
